Breed History
The Pomeranian is a small breed originally from the Pomerania region in Central Europe (modern-day Germany and Poland). It was bred from larger sled-pulling dogs and was popularized by Queen Victoria in the 19th century, who helped make the breed fashionable by bringing a small version back to England. Despite their small size, Pomeranians have retained the bold and confident personality of their larger ancestors.
