The Boston Terrier was developed in the United States in the late 1800s. It’s a true American breed, originally created by crossing the English Bulldog with the now-extinct White English Terrier. Bred initially for fighting, the Boston Terrier quickly evolved into a charming, friendly companion known for its tuxedo-like markings and gentle nature. It was one of the first breeds developed in the U.S. and recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1893.
