Breed History

The Pembroke Welsh Corgi originated in Wales, where they were bred as working dogs for herding cattle. Their small size and agility made them ideal for moving cattle, especially since they could nip at their heels and remain agile despite being low to the ground. Though initially bred as farm dogs, Corgis have become popular as affectionate companions. Queen Elizabeth II’s fondness for Corgis helped boost their status, making them a beloved breed worldwide.
